EI Associates was selected to provide architectural and engineering design services for Colgate-Palmolive’s new Micro Biology Laboratories at its plants throughout North America. The challenge of this project was to renovate existing plant areas to meet stringent contaminant minimization requirements while ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

The Cambridge, OH Micro Lab was the first project and is a renovation of an area bound by the existing warehouse, production units, packaging lab, and offices. The area of the proposed Micro Lab was occupied by offices and a maintenance shop. EI Associates was responsible for the complete design through construction, including demolition design, electrical power and plumbing design, lab benches and equipment specification, finishes and a HEPA filter HVAC system required for the new Micro Lab.

After the Cambridge design, EI designed similar micro labs in Canada, Puerto Rico and New Jersey.
