Brookside Park

Brookside Park is located in the northerly section of the Township of Bloomfield. It is a rolling meadow-like, passive use park of 5.7 acres along a meandering brook, the Third River. Site improvements include the following:

• Three entrance plazas were added along Broad
  Street, Morris Place and at Hoover Avenue
• The entrance stairway and bus-stop along Bay Avenue
  were replaced and upgraded
• Three new groupings of playground equipment were
  added with new curvilinear beds of safety
  surfacing for each play area
• Evergreen groundcover plantings were added to
  stabilize the western and northern banks and to
  beautify the park perimeter
• An 8-foot wide meandering walkway loops around the
  park and among the trees. A second pedestrian bridge
  was added
• A gazebo with seating was added as the central focal
  and gathering point
