Faced with growing production demands, Con-Lux Coatings had a need to expand their manufacturing capacity at their Edison, New Jersey plant. The facility includes a mill area for making and storing pastes, solvent storage, latex emulsion areas, and paint blending. The expansion required completely new piping, instrumentation and electrical systems, as well as additional process equipment and storage tanks. The new piping system includes header lines to the blender tanks and feeds from the various supply areas.

Safety, insurance underwriter requirements and building codes were significant issues in the design and construction. The new equipment and electrical systems meet the NFPA requirements for Class I, Division 1, Group D, and are explosion proof. This project provides Con-Lux with an efficient, up-to-date process manufacturing facility with increased production to satisfy their growth.
