PVC Paint Production Project

BASF planned to relocate and upgrade its coatings production and packaging to their Belvidere, NJ plant. To minimize cost it was decided to utilize as much of the existing equipment as possible. The company brought EI Associates in to prepare an initial plan for the project, a funding authorization package and ultimately to prepare the detailed construction drawing package for the revamped facility.

EI’s detailed engineering covered the design and/or specification of:

• Tanks
• Mixing Vessels
• Dry Powder Addition
• Integration with the POD System
• Utility Connections
• Piping
• Insulation
• Instrumentation
• Interface & Tie into Existing Dust Collection System
• Exhaust System
• Foam Fire Protection System

In addition, we designed the equipment power distribution, the structural supports for modifications and piping, and architectural upgrades. No disruptions to production occurred and the equipment was installed in accordance with BASF scheduled shutdowns.
