Lipman Hall
Cook Campus

EI Associates was retained to renovate Lipman Hall, a laboratory science building located on Rutgers’ Cook Campus. The building, constructed in the early 1900’s, is home to sophisticated biological laboratories whose activities generate substantial funding for the university.

As part of this work scope, a new laboratory suite was added to the second floor, replacing previous administrative functions. This suite consists of a teaching lab, lecture room, equipment room and prep area. A new central mechanical system was connected to the building with new interior ductwork coordinated with the tight existing conditions. The electrical service, panels and wiring was also upgraded to meet current codes and needs.

Additional work included:

• ADA upgrades
• Replacement of all windows
• New slate roof
• Built-in copper gutters
• Restoration of exterior woodwork, cornice trim and masonry restoration
