EI Associates was retained to renovate Douglass College’s BioScience Building, a three story early 1900’s structure.

Renovation consisted of the conversion of the third floor “attic” space for use as a large lecture area, with smaller, adjacent instructional spaces and TA offices. A new mechanical system was designed to condition the third floor areas. New skylights, with light control devices, were designed to supplement the interior lighting of this space.

Rooftop exhaust fans serving the existing fume hoods were replaced with new strobic fans to satisfy environmental requirements.

Renovation also included the replacement of the slate roof with new built-in copper gutters as well as the restoration of the exterior woodwork and cornice trim.
