Woodrow Wilson Elementary School

The Westfield School District commissioned EI to design the expansion of the library at the Woodrow Wilson Elementary School. The new addition was strategically located in the courtyard adjoining the existing library. Direct access between new and old was created by removing the sills from large arched window openings in the existing masonry wall. The open plan layout was designed around the library furniture arrangement developed with the school librarian.

The library’s new masonry facade, with its feature window, was designed to complement the handsome brickwork of this excellent example of early 20th Century school architecture.
