Hope Township School

Expanding enrollment and a desire for a better educational environment led the Hope Township Board of Education to hire EI Associates to design a 17,000 square foot addition to its pre-K through 8th grade school, and monitor the construction.

The addition houses a multi-purpose room, art room, music room and science room. With this addition, the school is now accessible to the physically challenged. The multi-purpose room functions as gymnasium and lunch room, and is available to the community for use outside normal school hours. The addition also frees up space in the existing building for new classrooms.

The engineering design was complicated by poor soil conditions which required the installation of a piled foundation, and by difficult accessibility due to the slope of the site.
