Pfizer, Inc., a premier pharmaceutical and health-care company, engaged EI Associates to design a new 187,000 sq.ft. warehouse and distribution facility for pharmaceutical and consumer health-care products. Consolidating and expanding current distribution capacity, the 40-foot high space is designed for man-aboard, narrow aisle wire-guided fork trucks.

Automated conveyors and robotic palletizers installed in the existing 250,000 sq.ft. plant will deposit consumer health-care goods in the new warehouse where they will be stored, sorted and packaged for shipment to customers throughout the northeast.

The building features 16 truck bays and includes a segregated storage area for high hazard products. Despite site constraints, including wetlands and stream encroachment, the facility was completed and occupied 18 months from start of design.
